The Galamian Duo is created by the Spanish and Norwegian violinist couple Jesus Reina and Anna Margrethe Nilsen. As the name suggests, the Galamian Duo carries and promotes renown violinist Ivan Galamian's school of violin playing. The members of the duo received their principal violin education from celebrated teaching associates Patinka Kopec and Pinchas Zukerman, both former students of Mr. Galamian, and now pedagogues, who apply his approach to violin playing.
Both accomplished and successful soloists, The Galamian Duo has performed in Austria, Germany, Mexico, Norway, Spain and the USA .They have performed in festivals and venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Music@Menlo festival, the Harvard Club series, Primary Stages, Washington National's stadium, the Kempinski in Berlin (gala concert), the Málaga#Clásica festival, Teatro Peón Contreras in Mérida and Centro Cultural Nova Caixa Galicia with the Galician Chamber Orchestra , amongst other venues.
Jesus Reina and Anna Margrethe Nilsen both received their Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. The Galamian Duo members are also founders and directors of the International Chamber Music Festival Málaga#Clásica.
Due to their cultural contribution, the Galamian Duo received the Honorary Medal of Malaga, Spain.
